Rainy Days

My gift to you: a rather oversized post of beautiful things and people for you to enjoy on a particularly wet Tuesday afternoon.  I am thoroughly exhausted today, despite having spent a particularly lazy day off work doing little more than reading magazines, catching up on the Blogging World and participating in a whole lot of online window shopping.  Utter bliss.

Spent a gorgeous evening yesterday in Covent Garden for drinks with The Boy and his fam, followed by some incredible noodles in China Town, a quick stroll through Piccadilly and a tube ride home...I do love this city.  Plan on spending the weekend with my Homegirl wandering around some charity shops, meeting her new puppy (!) and making extravagant life plans over skinny caramel lattes.  I know I should be upset that the weather's so rubbish at the moment, but secretly I'm kind of hoping the weekend stays cold and wet so I can spend hours gabbing in Costa without feeling guilty for not being outside.

So I'm currently sitting on my bed watching the rain hurtle past my window and debating whether or not I can be bothered to get up and cook dinner before he gets home from work...or whether I can just make him do it instead.  Such a loving girlfriend sometimes.

It finally happened.

Last weekend the fam came to visit me the new London pad.  After a leisurely (read: Mission Impossible worthy duck, dodge and squeeze) stroll around an over-crowded Harrods we recovered with a spot of Italian and headed to Kings Road. And there, from across the crowds, I spied the Ash Flagship Store.  With Sale signs.

One look at Mums was all I managed before sprinting across the road.  Twentypercentoff!  I was in love before I even had them on my feet.  Before I even had time to register what was happening it was a done deal, and my hands were shaking, literally shaking, as I took the carrier bag from the sales assistant.  She probably thought I was going to have a stroke.

If you've ever read my rambling posts before you will know the sheer joy these babies have caused me.  After months of lusting I can finally say they are mine...and my God they are good.

And yes, it's taken me a while to tell you all about them.  What can I say, I've been too busy strolling around London feeling pretty damn cool.

Yet another absence apology...I know, I know, it got old a while back.  But hey, I'm in London and there are bigger obstacles to tackle - the job has taken overrr.  So much to learn, my brain is in a permanent state of fry.

Loving the Big Smoke, by the way - constant aesthetic inspiration and a sudden urge to completely revamp my wardrobe.  Shocker that.  Unfortunately as per, my bank balance is suffering a tremendous strain at the moment, and the Great British Weather does not allow for such seasonal frivolity - my winter coat was cracked out the other day.  In July.

Over-tired rambles over.  I will do my best to post a little more, and a whole lot better, as soon as life cools down a little.

Boy Oh Boy

1-3 Massimo Dutti, 4-6 Uterque

It's been well established that my Zara fetish runs river deep, but more recently I have discovered two other fine Spanish labels, namely Massimo Dutti and Uterque.  After a quick perusal this morning, I stumbled across these beauties; all of which would be the perfect London Commute Bag.  

The LCB will be big enough to hold all my essentails (shoes, snacks, magazines, diary, notepad and a newly acquired iPad...), stylish enough to tote around the City (I don't do canvas totes.  Just no.) and hopefully in a colour that will work with all of my millions of coats, jackets and general outerwear.

Not asking for much then.

I think my favourite so far has to the be the top one, closely followed by number 2.  I'm a sucker for textured leather, but I do love a good double strap - one to nest in the nook of the arm and one to sling over the shoulder for guaranteed hands free access: an essential for shopping.

Check the sites out, I dare you not to fall hat over high heel.  Oh, and they've both got mega sales on...always a bonus.

SO after months of talking/planning/wandering/talking/searching/saving/talking/hoping & praying...The Boy and I are finally living in London.

Yep, I'm a Londoner.

The last few days have been spent packing, lugging, loading, unloading, lugging and unpacking and finally our  little room is starting to look like a room rather than a cobweb covered cubby hole...and it looks just beautiful.  

Today we wandered for miles trying (and potentially failing horribly) to get our bearings, but it feels good and whilst my constant chatter and random exclamations regarding our new surroundings will probably grow old, I am incredibly excited to be here.
