Mid Week Hit

The only thing that gets me to work after a few days off is a Costa extra hot skinny sugar free caramel latte (yes The Boy does get embarrassed when he does the coffee run.  What can I say, I know how I like it!)  As much as I'd love to get you all one (because they really are good) I'm running majorly low on funds right now, so this is the cheaper, prettier equivalent; here's hoping it brightens up your day and helps you out of the Post-Party Depression.

And yes, it's way OTT in terms of volume, but my hiatus has left my hardrive crippled, all that click'n'save and nowhere to go?  I can almost hear the craptop breathe a sigh of relief.

Camouflage

It is no secret that I am a big fan of most fashion eras gone-by.  I love the what goes around comes around repetition of trends; the ones that have existed forever yet re-emerge every few years, as fresh as the first time round, and make you rush out and re-invest all over again.

Military style is the epitome of such a trend, and yet again is set to be huge for AW12, straight from the catwalks of Topshop Unique and stocked everywhere in the form of khaki throw-ons, camouflage knits and the ultimate parka.

And as with so many before, I said I'd never wear it again.  The memories of my young self, clomping around in baggy combats are still so fresh and almost too painful to bear; it's best we forget the Spice Girls Movie that spurned an army ('scuse the pun) of tween girls clad in baggy khaki trousers and killer heels.  But I am obsessed with my new Topshop military jacket, and when it looks so damn good, how can I say no?

Big Move // Big City

1. My new local newsagents' magazine selection.  Woah.
2. Typical tourist photos.
3. Way overexcited about frozen yoghurt (and my new military jacket...in the bag.)
4. Ash's Kings Road store.  Drool.
5. Mum's Jubilee Pavlova.  What a star.
6. The Boy treading the streets of Chelsea.

Yes, I can finally announce that I will be an official resident of London in two weeks time.  After a mental few days last weekend with The Boy we have found ourselves a (small) flat, secured some crazy-good jobs and walked the majority of the city (no joke, we must have covered more than 30 miles, on foot, in searing temperatures.)
The best weekend ever has gotten me more than excited for the big move.  Exactly 13 months from the day I walked out of my final exam I will be unlocking my own London pad for the first time...I cannot wait.

Boutique

Topshop Boutique is easily one of my favourite collections on the high street, and I'm always excited by their ever-growing strength in terms of both style and reputation.  Last weekend I spent a happy hour or so trying on several of their key pieces this season, and I'm now oh so happy I didn't part with my pennies (as hard as that was!) because then The Sleeveless Leather landed in my inbox.  Boxy, buttery, leathery goodness...I cannot wait until the arrival of this beauty in store.  I'm already planning my A/W12 wardrobe around it and it's many many functions.  And I'm quite interested in the camo shirt too...

In other news, yes I have been hugely AWOL as of late.  Stuff's being going on, let me tell you.  I am planning a beast of a post in the not-too-distant future to bring you all bang up to date, but right now the festivities of the Jubilee and all the alcoholic celebrations that go so swimmingly with it are taking their toll, and I am too tired to make any sense whatsoever.  I promise to stop being so badly behaved very, very soon, and post a lot more regularly too!

Hope everyone's Jubilee was just perfect xx
